America's story is one of immigrants and refugees. Help keep the American dream in reach.

Wendy’s connection to Upwardly Global’s mission runs deep because of her immigrant background. She came to the U.S. with her family at the age of 12, and her passion for working with refugees and immigrants drove her to become a local leader in the immigrant and refugee community in the D.C. metro area.

For three generations, Wendy’s family endured political persecution and severe limitation of life opportunities while living under an authoritarian regime.  Wendy empathizes with those who are forced from home and understands that refugees are like all of us and they simply want a safer future for their family and children.

Wendy is currently a Senior Manager in Accenture Federal Services Strategy practice. She joined Accenture in 2008 and has worked with a variety of federal agencies and nonprofit on strategic planning, program development, and implementation roadmap design.  Currently she manages the Upwardly Global relationship and leads Accenture’s pro bono support to UpGlo.

Almost all of us are immigrants or descendants of immigrants, and we are here today because at some point, this country welcomed us or our ancestors and allowed them to call it home. Now, millions of refugees need that same welcoming spirit from us and the rest of the developed world.
